redghostx
Hi, I don't see this listed in the first 3 pages of the ebay forum so I started a new topic and perhaps an expert can help me. I sold an item and Fedex has lost the package and I have started the claim with Fedex (verbally informed that it will be approved as the tracking number doesn't exist so the file can't be updated normally) Basically, Fedex picked up the package, scanned it, took it to their distribution centre and lost it. As I have never issued a refund before, do I use paypal to refund the payment and then use eBay to cancel the transaction (eBay's "help" section is pretty useless) or is there a standardized method to process a refund. Thanks for any help

Thanks for any help Hi, yes you have the right idea. As long as you have communication with the buyer. Refund in the same method you received, then put in request to cancel transaction. Then just wait for FedEx refund.

exciter1
Since we're talking about it. I'm currently disputing a return. How long does that usually take? I already called EBay and they said my account status will not be affected, but the return detail still states that I must process the refund by 5/28. Thanks... justafrog
Haven't had to dispute a return yet, so you've got me on that one. I guess I'd give it another couple of days and be on the phone again to try to get clarification, if you haven't heard.

Thanks, it did have a warning at the top of the screen saying the response time may be longer than usual. Basically, the guy "his son" was claiming parts were missing and couldn't build the set. I put together the parts of the sets from the 2 bags he opened and everything was still there, including minifigs. They trashed the box and weren't very careful with the parts, but it was all there. I disputed claiming they were abusing the return system, since all parts are accounted for. I'm really not expecting much out of it, but I do feel I'm in the right to dispute the return, since it is definitely all there and they were using the "Missing parts or pieces" return category. It was a Destiny's Bounty too, which makes it a little more painful.

This kind of stuff makes me sick, just buy from a seller that has a return policy for opened sets or just buy the set used to begin with... jeez. We aren't a LEGO renting service.
