    Jeff Mack

Tonight starts the LEGO May the 4th Star Wars Event.  To start with, you at least get 20% off most Star Wars items.  On top of that you get your Double VIP points on all Lego Star Wars products which ends up being a decent discount.  Based on discussions in the forum, it appears that many are starting to eye up the 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium

    • Free shipping on all orders with no minimum.
    • Free 30602 First Order Stormtrooper (pictured above) with your order of $50 or more of LEGO Star Wars products.
    • Double VIP points on all LEGO Star Wars products.
    • Free LEGO-fied Star Wars The Force Awakens poster with all LEGO Star Wars purchases.

All offers are good from April 30th through May 4th while supplies last at all LEGO Brand Retail Stores and online at LEGO Shop@Home.

If you were lucky enough to get one of these invites below, you can get early access to a LEGO retail shop and hopefully get yourself one of those Limited run Space Slugs :)

Got my fill of the Exclusives i want for this year already. Too early to stock up on Slave 1 &  Tie. offer is not enough to convince me to stock up early.

Was hoping for effective 30% off the sets most likely to retire this year like US got.

True, but if they made too much, the easiest thing would be for them to lift the buying limit. They have done a pretty good job of managing stock so far this year as only PR is backordered. I wish we had the sales data feed, it would have helped so much to know how things have changed since 2015 - I can´t help feel that there is less demand, though.

With limit 1 on exclusive, it will be interesting to see whether EV, SC and Slave sell out in Europe. If they don´t then there is clearly a decline in demand for whatever reason.

It's because everyone is spending their money on Assault on Hoth instead.

Two orders placed! First order was the Ewok Village. Second order for a Slave I. I might order the Tie-Fighter on May 1st so I can order some Disney Minifigures at the same time for the Kids.

I wouldn't think so. I am just a collector/builder, I just wanted to take advantage of the double VIP points.

Been planning all week on getting a slave today for a PB. Ended up buying a SC, guess the investor in me took control. Might have to crack open a slave anyway dying to build it

Little birdies are chirping that the IST will be at a bit cheaper target this week.  If they have the 10.00 off coupon, it will go for about 72.99 on the 4th.

But, the poster will more than likely sell for 10 and the mini for 8 or 9, so buying IST's on lego right now is a bit of a no-brainer, so once you included discounts and vip points, the lego deal is better.  This may the 4th beats last years.  I think this is the one set that performs like the AT-AT did this year.  I could easily see this one rise to 180 next year.  So it's one of those easy double your money sets.

Also, it looks like the winter wave sets might only be out less than a year.  The resistence transport surprisingly sold out fast.  I'm starting to wonder about that thing as an investment.  If it's only out from January to November that could have some investment potential.

I am not sold on all you guys scooping up the IST it might be your best idea of a deal, due to the promos& x2 pts, but you can get on eBay and other sites for same price so not really a sale if you ask me. to each their own, count me out of that one, besides I Don't remember  Princess Leia eating cookies! :beerhat:

Do I really want a Space Slug? Less than 2 hours until opening and I still can't commit. Advice, please?

Is it a far drive or something? Space Slug will be a good flip on ebay. Bids are going over $250 right now. Go get it.

Seems to be low risk. At a minimum you can probably sell the space slug set at around $200 which would cover your $150 purchase + tax at the Lego store this morning, the eBay and PayPal fees. You'll walk away with whatever set(s) you spent the $150 on this morning + the storm trooper minifigure + the $15 in VIP points. Surely that's worth an hour or two of your time on a Saturday morning?

Thanks to you and @marcandre for the advice. I'm not really a seller, and I worry about damaging my relationship with TLG. If only there was someone waiting for me in the TRU parking lot with a crisp $100 bill in hand...

No doubt, but if you want the poster, mini, and discounts it's worth at least getting one or two from the site.  Really, the best deal is probably the sith infiltrator and homing spider droid since that is only available at TRU.

I respect that @Poly 30286. Here's another motivating reason to go. This item would make a great item to trade in brick classifieds down the road. I'm confident any number of Star Wars Brick Picker fans would be more than happy to send you a comparable valued set from their collection and no money would have to change hands.

Or, you could  just keep the item and be happy knowing you have a limited edition, highly collectible LEGO set.

Got my IST for $60 after I sold the free first order mini figure for $25... And I still have the poster. If you can find a better deal I want in!

According to my "detailed files" EV is now the 3rd longest tenured "UCS size" set (DS being number 1 and only 40 days now behind SSD).
I know that probably means not much really but if you did want an EV now would be a great time :)

KMart coupons, points and discount gift cards was probably the best deal for them, but it appears they are almost sold out.

    Current IST deals:

Amazon: $81.98 (YMMV on sales tax)

    ebay: $75 (no tax)

    Walmart: clearance, YMMV $74 + $5.92 avg sales tax = $79.92

Kmart: I'm not nearly smart enough to figure this out :jester:

    LEGO Shop at Home: $80 + $6.40 avg sales tax = $86.40

             -10% back in VIP points

              -$5-$10 minifigure

               -$5-$10 poster

    TRU: $104 - 20% - 10% (truth) =$74.88

                +8% avg sales tax = $80.87

                 -15% discount GC = $68.74

                 -8% back in rewards

In the end the sales pricing beats Amazon, Walmart, and eBay. TRU may be better if you do the credit card extra 10% and double rewards back on Thursday. For those like me, that don't have a TRU CC, and don't do the Kmart SYW program, the LEGO Shop at Home deal seems like a no brainer.

I think the cookie is suppose to represent the cookie or biscuit she feeds Wicket.  I found it interesting they didn't include him as then it would make sense.

I was thinking they had a policy with only one free give-away per household, regardless of number of orders. Has this changed?

They have always stated this in the fine print, but I've never seen it enforced personally. That being said, I've only ever received maybe 3 or 4 of any given promo as I think that's my risk tolerance level. Some of our fellow members have reported ordering 20+ promo qualifying orders without issue.
